Description
Ear-T is a simulated tympanic thermometer designed to bring greater realism to temperature measurement training in healthcare simulation. Inspired by familiar hospital ear thermometer formats, it allows learners to carry out a more authentic patient assessment while instructors remotely control the displayed temperature values.
Using the Innov2Learn app, educators can preset temperature readings or trigger values during the scenario as the learner presses the thermometer’s measurement button. Readings can be displayed in °C or °F, and the device emits a measurement beep when a new result appears, helping replicate the flow of real clinical observations.
Ear-T is suitable for use with standardised patients, low-fidelity manikins and high-fidelity manikins, making it a flexible addition to nursing education, clinical skills training, OSCE preparation and simulation centre scenarios. It removes the need for verbal prompts, paper notes or improvised temperature cues, helping maintain immersion throughout the exercise.
Powered by an internal rechargeable battery, Ear-T provides over 8 hours of continuous operation and recharges via USB-C. It can be wirelessly controlled from up to 15 metres away, including through glass or thick walls, making it practical for use in observation rooms and structured simulation environments.
